Preparations

I officially leave for Querétaro in 28 days. I cannot believe how time is flying this summer! What seemed like the longest awaited departure of my life is soon becoming a reality! Yesterday I began to lay out my clothes, making sure that I am packing practically and getting closer to having everything that is recommended for the trip. There are still a few things that I need to pick up such as 501 Spanish Verbs (a book that will serve as my survival guide for the next four months), a birthday gift for my señora, school supplies (classes in Spanish, I can't believe this is happening), and other essentials required for traveling to a different country for four months of my life. This process, along with much encouragement from my sweet mom, made me feel WAY more prepared than I thought I was, which is exciting considering that I will be out of town for 14 of the remaining 30 days I have left in the states. In short, my time here is running low and I couldn't be more excited to take off on this adventure.

While I had some down time today I sat and read Jesús te llama (the Spanish translation of Jesus Calling by Sarah Young... AMAZING). After wrestling with some of the vocabulary that was unfamiliar to me I was finally able to comprehend the message of the day's devotion. The beginning reads, "Keep walking with Me along the path I have chosen for you" and goes on to say, "All I require of you is to take the next step, clinging to My hand for strength and direction." If there was ever a time that I needed to grasp onto Jesus' hand and trust in his path for my life... it would be RIGHT NOW! The Lord continues to blow me away with his provision for me and his ability to encourage me when I need it the most. He truly knows me better than anyone on this planet! The scripture for the day spoke to my heart loud and clear and reminded me to continue to delight myself in the LORD.  Psalm 37:23-24 reads, "The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand." Psalm 16:11 says, "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." It is my prayer that the Lord would be my joy and continue to remind me that he is with me everywhere I go, even to Querétaro! What a big God we serve!

The Lord has blessed me with complete peace about leaving and I am so excited for August 12th!
Bendiciones y vaya con Dios!
